MG Financial adds Dow Jones FX market data stream to DealStation

(ASSODIGITALE.IT) Dow Jones & Company (NYSE: DJ) today announced an agreement with MG Financial Group, a leader in retail foreign exchange, to include streaming currency news from Dow Jones Newswires, the trusted source of real-time news and information for financial professionals, into MG's DealStation Forex trading platform.

DealStation is designed for individual investors, providing them with a suite of tools, rates, data and charting for trading currencies. Now, DealStation customers can access real-time, streaming news from Dow Jones directly from their trading platforms. The custom package of Dow Jones news and information includes:

Economic News SUMMARY, February 6

Engineering company Kuenz-SK, s.r.o., a member of Austrian engineering group Hans Kuenz GmbH, has invested EUR 7.2 million in Slovakia so far, which corresponds to around SKK 250 million. The company built a new plant in Kechnec industrial park in eastern Slovakia, which produces construction components for containers and special cranes and equipment for hydropower plants. Official representative of the company Hynek Weiss informed that preparation works for construction of the third production hall has been launched at present. Investment costs should reach around EUR 1 million.

SFRB Distributed SKK 4.707 Bln. in Housing Support Last Year
The State Housing Development Fund (SFRB) distributed SKK 4.707 billion in housing support in 2006. According to information published by SFRB, applicants were chiefly interested in support for construction of rental apartments, construction of apartments in family houses and renewal of residential buildings.


US Treasury chief lets Japan off the yen hook

WASHINGTON (AP) Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Tuesday he is not concerned about the lows being set by the yen against the dollar because those values are being set in open markets.

Paulson was pressed on the issue by Rep. Sander Levin during a hearing of the House Ways and Means Committee. Levin questioned why the U.S. administration is not doing more to encourage Tokyo to halt the slide in the yen against the dollar.

American automakers believe that decline has given their Japanese competitors a tremendous price advantage.

Levin, D-Mich., said European automakers are complaining about the yen's decline against their currencies. He suggested that Paulson should join forces with European finance ministers to lobby Japanese officials on the issue when the countries meet this weekend for the Group of Seven finance ministers meeting in Essen, Germany.


Won Keeps Rising on Yen

SEOUL -- The won surged to a fresh nine-year high against the yen Friday despite an earlier Bank of Korea warning that it is closely monitoring trading following complaints that currency strength is eroding export competitiveness.

The central bank also said won strength is adding to difficulties in formulating monetary policy, suggesting the call rate might be held unchanged for longer than earlier thought.
